My newest art project
Mar. 5th, 2009 | 10:53 pm
After I make my next piece of dark cyber art, Insert Coin To Continue (robotic arm inserting a coin into a human head), I will start on a trilogy (which I am going to collectively call the Cybergenesis Triptych) of pieces, but i warn those of a religious disposition, this may be a little strong. Now, I don't mean to offend anyone -- these are just images that come to me in dreams....
ADAM:
A severed male torso, crucified on a cross, but attached to the cross not by nails but by tubes binding him to the structure, ending in IV's piercing multiple parts of his body. His head has a halo-like helmet, on which are attached 5 IV hyperdermics (also attached to tubes trailing off somewhere) entering his head
LILITH:
Neon Genesis Evangelion style, a severed female torso, crucified on a cross. Hand's lashed by barbed wire, and the torso is impaled onto the cross by a large metallic / cyber Lance of Longinus (looking similar to the one in NGE, if anyone's familiar with it. Just imaging it being made out of metal, and cables and wires and much more angular, maybe a few cogs and blade-edges too)
EVE:
A woman, with a cybernetic sheen to her skin, standing in front of a window (below which is a control deck) observing these two crucifictions. She is standing in profile, holding an apple in front of her face and smiling
I just wanted to know your thoughts, really

Right!
Here I am in NYC -- been a while since I updated you guys -- in the country that has the most PC's per household do you belive I couldn't find a single one?!?
Anyways, let me begin by saying DAMN YOU CENTRALIA with your empty promises.... (if you don't know what Centralia is check out this wikipedia entry for more info. HOWEVER, we did stay at SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY (now how cool is that?!?) and it rained, sporadically but it rained.... strange 5 minute showers they get over here lol
anyways -- we were gonna go Connecticut, which we did. We met up with one of Amanda's friends in CT, Rich, who is a man without an alcohol tolerance. We saw a few bars with him (well I saw THE bar) and I had a few games of pool with him (yeah) and we went off to a few biker bars after -- and the rest becomes hazy haha
Anyways -- he tells us about this beautiful beach on Rhode Island (where our travel is taking us) and we check it out.... we stay there for 4 days as it is so nice so no Vermont for us -- just lots of beach haha
Anyways, we got to NYC earlier and here we are - -we spent half the day in a brewpub and the rest in Hard Rock Cafe -- now we sleep -- I speak to you guys later, eh
Happy 4th July!
oh, ps, Amnda broke a window! ROCK AND ROLL!

I'M NOT DEAD!
Jun. 27th, 2008 | 11:54 am
Hey all!
Hello from sunny Rehoboth Beach, Delaware!
I've been having quite an eventful week here in the states, so let me break it down as I only have 20 mins left in this internet cafe (damn all you facebook notifications! haha)
Flew into Atlanta, Georgia from Gatwick on Sunday, only to find out my connecting flight to Washington DC had been cancelled. So i was put on standby for some other flights. As the next flight wasn't for a few hours, i decided to pop into a bar and have a few beers (and watch a soccer game -- italy vs spain). After not managing to get on the next TWO flights (at 6.30 and 8.30), i started getting agitated. After a few more beers, and the acqusition of Guitar Hero On Tour for my DS (which I didn't even know came out) I sat around and waited, until FINALLY I got a flight at 10.30!!! I got into DC at about 12.45 and found the hotel where we were staying and fell asleep.
Monday in DC was quite fun -- saw the US Capitol, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, the Smithsonian Institute and The White House. After deciding that all this walking around in the sun made us thirsty, we got a cab from The White House to the Hard Rock Cafe, where we kinda stayed for most of the evening. Lots of cocktails, loud music and food, until we picked up our things from the hotel and went back to the airport to pick up our DODGE CHARGER **drool**, from which we drove to Baltimore, Maryland.
Baltimore is, by and large, a dump. Run down neighbourhoods, scary stoops and generally a feeling of forboding is what we were greeted with. After checking into the B&B, we got the light rail to the Harbour Area (which is a lot nicer), and headed for the Hard Rock Cafe there, where we stayed until about 12.30. After many more drinks and a little walk along the harbour, we got a cab back to the B&B.
Generally, it was a good thing we were only staying one night in Balitmore, but our adventure in MD hadn't ended there. We were en-route to Rehoboth Beach, DE, when we decided to stop off in Annapolis, MD. Annapolis is a BEAUTIFUL little town, with a nice little harbour, quaint little shops. In a way, we felt bad as we should have stayed in Annapolis rather than Baltimore, but we seem to be collecting Hard Rock pin badges.
After a lovely day in Annapolis, we started the drive to Rehoboth Beach. Rehoboth beach is AWESOME! It's a seafront resort, with touristy shops, food stalls and loads of bars.... we frequented a few on the first night, and fell asleep after a night of inebriation. Yesterday saw us going to Lewes beach, where we ate and walked along the canal. Upon returning to Rehoboth, we ended up sitting by the pool pretty much all day (yes **shock** I have a slight tan!!!), and then got showered and dressed to go for dinner and drinks. In the evening, we sat on the beach with a bottle of wine, before coming back to the hotel.
Today, we're checking out, and are now heading off to CENTRALIA, PENNSYLVANIA (YEAH I'm THAT damn cool!), so if we find a PC in a few days when we find somewhere to stay i'll update again!
STAY SAFE!

MUSICIANS REQUIRED
May. 22nd, 2008 | 11:43 am
Please pass this on -- I am looking for musicians in the south london area, wanting to form a melodic prog metal band (the new and improved Our Future Imperfect)
I am in need of all musicians at the moment (although I will be playing bass), so 2x guitarists, drummer, keyboard player, female and male singer (altho if the singers can play an instrument that would be a bonus)
I have songs written for a possible EP, I just need to have the music put together for it, and the practice for gigs, etc
If any of you know anyone who may be interested, please have them contact me via myspace or email me at markmoriquendi AT hotmail DOT com
Thanks guys!
Mark Moriquendi

LIQUID SKY TO PLAY BLOODSTOCK! (please re-post)
Mar. 18th, 2008 | 01:22 pm
location: work
mood:
tired
music: Liquid Sky "Identity"
Well, that's the idea!
Liquid Sky are on a campaign to play the Bloodstock Open Air festival this year, and it would be awesome to see them there.
Liquid Sky are an English progressive metal band from Manchester, UK. Their music combines progressive and symphonic elements, drawing influences from a wide variety of bands like Lacuna Coil, Paradise Lost, Dream Theater and Soilwork.
Formed by guitarist Jonathan Craven in 2000, Liquid Sky released two EPs “Adrenochrome” (2001) and “Nightfall” (2003) and the debut album “Bloodline” (2004). In 2004, the band performed at Bloodstock Festival. Also in 2004, the vocalist Fiona Creaby left the band, to be replaced by Hecate Taglietti. As the band commenced work on their second album, titled "Identity", further line-up changes occurred, slowing up the recording work considerably. The band is currently searching for a second guitarist to complete the line-up.
Guys, please join the crusade to have Liquid Sky play this year's BOA festival and click here:

For a taster of their music, please check out http://www.myspace.com/liquidskymet al

OUR FUTURE IMPERFECT (update)
Jan. 21st, 2008 | 05:37 pm
location: The Red Carpet Grave
mood:
tired
music: The Birthday Massacre -- "Walking With Strangers"
Right
Our Future Imperfect are on facebook -- go add them to Entertainment:
(from the Myspace Bulletin)
Add Our Future Imperfect on Facebook!
Both demos up on facebook -- Intergalactic Space Crusaders and Indecisively Deceased

Secondly, as you can tell from the above, I have now uploaded two demos. One is the backing for the cover of Star One's "Intergalactic Space Crusaders" (which is having drums programmed for it as we speak) and the other is the backing for "Indecisively Deceased". Am awaiting a vocal melody, and this will then be sent to someone to sing guidevocals
if you're interested, check out the facebook link above (click the button) or head on over to The Our Future Imperfect MySpace" for more info

SLAY RIDE!
Dec. 27th, 2007 | 04:13 pm
location: The Red Carpet Grave
mood:
devious
music: Ayreon - "The Human Equation"
Yes that's right
I've written another Wednesdays Child song
here's the basis for it
let me know what you think
SLAY RIDE By Marky Thirteen
(sung to the tune of Sleigh Ride)
---------------------------------------- ----------
Just feel your bodies shivering
And your senses are tingling too
Come on it's lovely weather
For a trip to the graveyard with you
Once we've dug up the corpses
We'll interfere with a body or two
They just don't care - Look there!
Pretty dead girl - left just for you
CHORUS:
Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up!
You know - They never say no
They never say no
Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up!
You know - there's nowhere i'd be
Than with you in a graveyard
On a Slay Ride together with me!
Now just pass round the bottle
And down a finger or two
Cos it's thirsty work
These cadavers that we've gotta get through
Let's take the one before us
Looks like noone else has tried
We'll both fit snug and cozy
In her grave - on either side
CHORUS:
Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up!
You know - They never say no
They never say no
Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up! Dig Em Up!
You know - there's nowhere i'd be
Than with you in a graveyard

Crystal eyes, I still love you
You`re my one desire
Crystal eyes, I can`t live without your touch
You are my crystal eyes
--LA Guns "Crystal Eyes"
There was a time
All those many years ago
I'd be in your arms
And you'd be in mine
Your love, it took me
As high as the stars
But now I look back
And realise I could not see
Those wings you swept me up on
Have now just turned to dust
We tried to fly too high
And at the stars your wings just fell apart....
--Mark Moriquendi "The Love Of Icarus"
