Right!
Here I am in NYC -- been a while since I updated you guys -- in the country that has the most PC's per household do you belive I couldn't find a single one?!?

Anyways, let me begin by saying DAMN YOU CENTRALIA with your empty promises.... (if you don't know what Centralia is check out this wikipedia entry for more info. HOWEVER, we did stay at SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY (now how cool is that?!?) and it rained, sporadically but it rained.... strange 5 minute showers they get over here lol

anyways -- we were gonna go Connecticut, which we did. We met up with one of Amanda's friends in CT, Rich, who is a man without an alcohol tolerance. We saw a few bars with him (well I saw THE bar) and I had a few games of pool with him (yeah) and we went off to a few biker bars after -- and the rest becomes hazy haha

Anyways -- he tells us about this beautiful beach on Rhode Island (where our travel is taking us) and we check it out.... we stay there for 4 days as it is so nice so no Vermont for us -- just lots of beach haha

Anyways, we got to NYC earlier and here we are - -we spent half the day in a brewpub and the rest in Hard Rock Cafe -- now we sleep -- I speak to you guys later, eh

Happy 4th July!

oh, ps, Amnda broke a window!
Hey all!

Hello from sunny Rehoboth Beach, Delaware!
I've been having quite an eventful week here in the states, so let me break it down as I only have 20 mins left in this internet cafe (damn all you facebook notifications! haha)

Flew into Atlanta, Georgia from Gatwick on Sunday, only to find out my connecting flight to Washington DC had been cancelled. So i was put on standby for some other flights. As the next flight wasn't for a few hours, i decided to pop into a bar and have a few beers (and watch a soccer game -- italy vs spain). After not managing to get on the next TWO flights (at 6.30 and 8.30), i started getting agitated. After a few more beers, and the acqusition of Guitar Hero On Tour for my DS (which I didn't even know came out) I sat around and waited, until FINALLY I got a flight at 10.30!!! I got into DC at about 12.45 and found the hotel where we were staying and fell asleep.

Monday in DC was quite fun -- saw the US Capitol, Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, the Smithsonian Institute and The White House. After deciding that all this walking around in the sun made us thirsty, we got a cab from The White House to the Hard Rock Cafe, where we kinda stayed for most of the evening. Lots of cocktails, loud music and food, until we picked up our things from the hotel and went back to the airport to pick up our DODGE CHARGER **drool**, from which we drove to Baltimore, Maryland.

Baltimore is, by and large, a dump. Run down neighbourhoods, scary stoops and generally a feeling of forboding is what we were greeted with. After checking into the B&B, we got the light rail to the Harbour Area (which is a lot nicer), and headed for the Hard Rock Cafe there, where we stayed until about 12.30. After many more drinks and a little walk along the harbour, we got a cab back to the B&B.

Generally, it was a good thing we were only staying one night in Balitmore, but our adventure in MD hadn't ended there. We were en-route to Rehoboth Beach, DE, when we decided to stop off in Annapolis, MD. Annapolis is a BEAUTIFUL little town, with a nice little harbour, quaint little shops. In a way, we felt bad as we should have stayed in Annapolis rather than Baltimore, but we seem to be collecting Hard Rock pin badges.

After a lovely day in Annapolis, we started the drive to Rehoboth Beach. Rehoboth beach is AWESOME! It's a seafront resort, with touristy shops, food stalls and loads of bars.... we frequented a few on the first night, and fell asleep after a night of inebriation. Yesterday saw us going to Lewes beach, where we ate and walked along the canal. Upon returning to Rehoboth, we ended up sitting by the pool pretty much all day (yes **shock** I have a slight tan!!!), and then got showered and dressed to go for dinner and drinks. In the evening, we sat on the beach with a bottle of wine, before coming back to the hotel.

Today, we're checking out, and are now heading off to CENTRALIA, PENNSYLVANIA (YEAH I'm THAT damn cool!), so if we find a PC in a few days when we find somewhere to stay i'll update again!

STAY SAFE!

    <lj:music>Liquid Sky "Identity"</lj:music>

Well, that's the idea!

Liquid Sky are on a campaign to play the Bloodstock Open Air festival this year, and it would be awesome to see them there.

Liquid Sky are an English progressive metal band from Manchester, UK. Their music combines progressive and symphonic elements, drawing influences from a wide variety of bands like Lacuna Coil, Paradise Lost, Dream Theater and Soilwork.
Formed by guitarist Jonathan Craven in 2000, Liquid Sky released two EPs “Adrenochrome” (2001) and “Nightfall” (2003) and the debut album “Bloodline” (2004). In 2004, the band performed at Bloodstock Festival. Also in 2004, the vocalist Fiona Creaby left the band, to be replaced by Hecate Taglietti. As the band commenced work on their second album, titled "Identity", further line-up changes occurred, slowing up the recording work considerably. The band is currently searching for a second guitarist to complete the line-up.

Guys, please join the crusade to have Liquid Sky play this year's BOA festival and click here:
http://bloodstock.uk.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=12930

For a taster of their music, please check out http://www.myspace.com/liquidskymetal

Thanks
Mark Moriquendi
"On A Quest To Bring Great Music To The Masses"

    <lj:music>Muse - "Supermassive Black Hole"</lj:music>

I dreamed I was in a classroom, and my current manager (Irfha) was the teacher. Abi and Jon were amongst the people in the classroom (I was sitting opposite Jon, facing the back of the classroom and Abi was sitting on a table nearer the back, facing toward the front). I, for some reason, was wearing my pinstripe coat and a black pinstriped trilby.

Irfha was giving us a lesson on Prog rock, and I mentioned Ayreon. She started to try to write Arjen Lucassen's name on the blackboard, but after many failed attempts (Arson, Aslan, Arhen, Arwen, Ayreon) she gave up and just wrote "A.A. Lucassen" instead, and proceeded to talk about his music.

At this point, I heard Alice's voice from outside, so i stood up and looked out of the window where I discovered I was on the first floor of the building. Abi was now downstairs and looked up at me, asking if today was "Gangster Day" (making a reference to my clothes). I pulled my head back into the classroom and Irfha had disappeared, leaving only a list of names of bands on the blackboard (including Evergrey and Muse), and Abi was back. She asked if Jon and I wanted a drink, and Jon said yes. Abi disappeared, and re-appered in a gothic dress and gave me a pint of beer and Jon a pint of WKD Blue (which he doesn't drink in reality but anyway)....

HEY YOU GUYS!

I'm on another quest to bring awesome music to you guys, and today it's two bands that are strangely linked together.

First off, we have the progressive metal project Legend's Ghost:
(from their Myspace)

"Legend's Ghost is composer/vocalist Cheryl-Renee Childs' musical project. Cheryl finished writing the music for Legend's Ghost's first concept album "The Suicidal Immortal" in September 2006. She is currently recording. Afterwards, Cheryl hopes to get a record deal for the project, produce more albums, and eventually have a tour. The tour would feature a fully acted version of the opera.
Several guest artists, some in the US, and a few in Europe, will appear on the album as instrumentalists or characters in the story.
A story that could be described as Tuck Everlasting with a twist, The Suicidal Immortal is an adventure complete with time travel, ancient curses, and even a little romance. A brilliant young scientist takes his new time machine for a test drive and soon finds himself in the ruins of a lost city. There, he meets its only inhabitant, a beautiful woman under a horrible curse."

Secondly, we have space metal maniacs Our Future Imperfect:
(from their Myspace)

"OUR FUTURE IMPERFECT is a Sci-fi-inspired Space Metal project from UK musician Mark Moriquendi (also known as Marky Thirteen from upcoming horrorpunk group Wednesdays Child).

Inspired by Arjen Lucassen and Ayreon, Our Future Imperfect aims to bring together a collection of musicians unsigned or up-and-coming, to ensure a unique stylised sound.

Each track will feature a different line up of artists. This not only provides a unique mix of talent, but will showcase some up and coming alternative talent."

The link? Cheryl from Legend's Ghost is providing vocals for two of Our Future Imperfect's covers! She is providing backing vocals for "Intergalactic Space Crusaders" and lead vocals for "Memory"
